Since moving to Sherfield Park in excess of 9 years ago with my wife Jackie, I have enjoyed getting to know many of the residents within the area by assisting them with my pastime hobby of DIY. I also enjoy gardening and visiting places like Hampton Court Show, the freedom of the countryside within the parish and seeing the wildlife whilst out walking my 3 dogs, which I must admit I have spoilt.
Before retiring and becoming a full time carer for my wife Jackie, of 36 years, who sadly is suffering with multiple sclerosis, I was involved in sales but originally I served an apprenticeship with Wallis and Stevens as an agricultural engineer attending Sparsholt agricultural college. I then became very interested in forestry. Changing my direction I worked for a private estate maintaining several thousand acres of woodland, living on my own within the grounds. I became restless and began looking at career opportunities which took me into sales This is the point of my life where I began to learn and understand how different we all are – the needs, demands and views of each person differ in so many ways, realistically knowing you cannot please and satisfy everyone .
In a nut shell I am a very caring sympathetic person with respect and understanding for all. For the past 20 years I have also been a foster carer which in itself can be very challenging. Hope this gives you an understanding of my life and who I am!
